ITINERARY:
Day-1 Patna Arrival- Vaishali Excursion Arrive at Patna. Visit Vaishali (70kms/ 2 hrs). Lord Buddha preached his first sermon, and announced his impending Nirvana here. Visit Buddha stupas, Ashoka Pillar and Vishva Shnati Stoopa. O/n at hotel in Patna.
Day-2 Patna- Rajgir Proceed to Ragir (100 kms/ 3 hrs). Rajgir is also known as Panchpahari with shrines on five hills. Visit Vishwa Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda) and monasteries built by Japanese devotees of the Buddha on top of the Ratnagiri Hills. Also visit Brahmakund- a watepool formed from seven hot springs. It's a holy place for bathing & have medicinal properties and healing features. O/n at hotel in Rajgir.
Day-3 Rajgir- Bodhgaya.Travel to Bodhgaya (70 kms /2 hrs). Bodhgaya is where Buddha attained enlightment under a tree, Visit to the Mahabodhi temple, Giant Buddha Statute . There are number of temples set up by different South East Asian Countries. Guests may visit them time permitting. O/n at hotel in Bodhgaya
Day-4 Bodhgaya- Varanasi Travel to Varanasi (260kms/ 6 hrs). Varanasi is a holy river Ganges riverside destination and one where guests arrive for a spiritual experience. Visit Kashi Vishvanath temple (a Jyotirlinga temple). Evening boat ride in holy river Ganges for experiencing the evening Arti on the Ghats. O/n at hotel in Varanasi.
Day-5 Morning visit to Sarnath. Morning Visit to Sarnath (12 kms), a centre for Buddhist heritage and a destination on Buddhist circuit. Stupas at Sarnath are magnificient and worth a visit for any traveller. Afternoon, return to Varansai & visit Bharat Kala Bhavan (Musem with a collection of clay and bronze sculpture, paintings, silks and embroidered textiles) and temples and ghats around the area. O/n at hotel in Varanasi.
Day-6 Varanasi- Kushinagar. Proceed Kushinagar (250 kms / 6 hours) - It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddha attained Parinirvana after his death. O/n at hotel in Kushinagar
Day-7 Kushinagar- Sravasti. Proceed to Sravasti (250 kms /6 hrs). Lord Buddha passed the greater part of his monastic life in Sravasti. Jetavana monastery is the main pilgrim destination of Sravasti. Meditation and chanting mainly done at the Gandhakuti (Buddha's hut) and the Anandabodhi tree. Buddhist monasteries have been constructed by Thailand, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Tibet and China. O/n at hotel in Sravasti.
Day-8 Shravasti- Lumbini- Gorakhpur. Early morning departure - Day visit to Lumbini (Across Nepal Border) - (180 kms/ 5 hrs) - Lumbini is the birthplace of Buddha. Visit Maya Devi temple, Bodhi tree, Ashoka Pillar. Later, return to Gorakhpur (100 kms / 3 hrs). O/n at hotel in Gorakhpur.
